April is National Poetry Month

In honor of April, National Poetry Month---today and at least twice weekly, we will read and examine and explore poetry. Today is day one. On day one, YOU will have the chance to browse various sources to: find AT LEAST one poem that you like. Why will you like it: maybe because of its rhyme; or its imagery; or its use of language like vernacular; or its subject matter; or its universal theme. Maybe it sounds like magic. Maybe you can write a poem like it.  So, where to look, where to go? I have hyperlinked several places for you to browse for poems. I also have several poetry anthologies including Phototry by Hiram Sims; Death by comb by Camari Carter; and others. Select a poem from here, or from the hyperlinked list. Carefully read the poem, and then complete a SOAPS analysis. You will also record yourself reading the poem on Flipgrid and lastly, you will share with a partner.
