Digging Deeper "Mami Gets a Job" H English 10 Period 6

We've agreed that "Mami Gets a Job" is a pivotal chapter. There are many, many, firsts for Negi in the chapter, in part because her mother is no longer always so present in Esmerelda's life. These parts need to be analyzed to see how they contribute to the whole or overall theme of the chapter. To do this, take the section you chose from the text and do the following: Summarize what happens in the excerpt you selected from the text. What happens literally and figuratively? Why is it important? What does Mai or Negi learn indirectly and directly in this segment? What do you think the narrator wants us to learn or understand about life and her life? What seems to be the author's purpose for this segnment? Write your response in one page or more. Your response may be typed or handwritten. YOu may brainstrom for this assignment.
