American Literature Periods 3 and 4

1. Review/Re-read the Pronoun Review handout in order to complete the Pronoun and Antecedent Agreement handout by circling the correct pronouns. There are twenty sentences.
2. Whatever you and your team were assigned for the Expository Presentations (negation; analogy; exemplification; description; compare&contrast; process; division/classification; etc.) YOU will write an original paragraph in which you use the method your group was assigned. For example, if you were assigned Description, you may want to write a paragraph DESCRIBING your room. If you were assigned compare and contrast--maybe you will compare and contrast rap and rock music.
Period 4: I will collect the following assignments on Monday: SOAPSTONE on Article of your choice; Graphic Organizer on Tortilla Essay; Comprehension Questions on Tortillas;  Veteran's Day Essay Question (about Patriotism); Levels of Questions (1 Right there; 1 Author and You; 1 On My Own Questions based on John McCain essay)

1. Visit the link to the online text, Patterns for College Writing. The link was posted on Friday. Scroll down to page 489. Read and Take notes on the Material About Definitions. You are to read and record notes o n your reading of page 489-491.
2. Finish your Article of The Week (Student Choice); your SOAPS Sheet; and your paragraph Summary.
3. Bring your Own Graphic Organizer for your Word you defined, bring your paragraph, bring your answers to the questions for "Tortillas".
