American Literature Period 4

Homework: Select ANY 15 Questions to answer. Also create two right there questions and two Author and You Question (questions where you have to read the text BUT the answer is not in the text but in your BRAIN). On Monday, we will resume essay revision. 
Please do not write the questions, but simply write the response to the study questions for Act I.II (Act I Scene II) 1. When and where does this scene take place?

1. Based on the presentation that you heard researching the causes of health disparities among minority communities answer the following: 1. Why is it ironic that Walter wants to open a liquor store? Why does it both make sense and why is it ironic? 
2. Why does the presenter show the pictures of the four high schools? Of the liquor stores? How do pictures enhance his presentation?
3. What point does the presenter make about health, wealth, education and criminal justice?
4. What else did you like or admire about the entire event?

Period 4 American Literature

Remember!!! You had an EXTRA Day, so you needed to read An Article of the Week and you need to bring a Completed SOAPS based on your article to class TOMORROW!!
2. Be sure to have finished your Character Bio-Poems/I Am Poems for each character on the grid EXCEPT Travis!!!
3. Bring your independent reading novel and Raisin in the Sun Texts/Packets to class tomorrow.

American Literature Periods 1 & 3

Period 1: Finish your Character Analysis Chart using the text, "A Raisin in the Sun". You should have a section for "Big" Walter as well.
2. Finish either your Reading Reaction Record based on reading of your novel OR A SOAPS if you read an Article of the Week.

Period 3: 1.  Re-read the Essay for the SAT Prompt. 2. Write a paragraph based on your reading: "Why is the essay persuasive to me?" 3. Finish your Reading Reaction Record or SOAPS depending on if you read your novel, or an Article of the Week during class time on Tuesday 2/19/18
