American Literature Period 5.

2. Why do you think those who are unable to read and write well are more like to wound up in prison or serve some jail time during their lives? Brainstorm a list with your seat partner, or on your own.

Write a Found Poem using words and ideas from any chapter as your Guide.
Found Poem Guidelines: Your Found Poem MUST be at least 15 lines of text and must include at least 2-3 quotes from your chapter.
Suggestions: Draw Mrs. Lucretia Auld and the change she makes in character and demeanor.
Draw Mr. Auld telling his wife not to teach Frederick.

American Literature Period 4 and 5

Today, after our first quiz and correction and reading chapter 4/5 and your Dialectical Journal, you will have the chance to work silently on assignments due in your English Class. These include: Your Word Search; The Vocabulary Sentences from The Narrative of Frederick Douglass; finishing your Art Work and coloring it; Your Family Tree; The Family Tree for Frederick Douglass. At least 1-2 assignments must be submitted by the periods end today.
Homework: Be sure to have your Dialectical Journals completed.  Article of the Week: Whole Class Read. Rude versus Mean versus Bullying + Summary + SOAPS + Levels of Questions.  Wanna Extra-Credit, or have a SOAPS you didnt do? You may submit two on Your Block Day.
