American Literature Period 3

1. Think of an abstract word or concept that is important to you or which your definition of that word may be different from the rest of society.  Use your red graphic organizer to begin to tease out or brainstorm characteristics of your word.  Then, write a paragraph (of at least 5-6 sentences) in which you define your term.

2. Re-read the essay "Veteran's Day: Never Forget Their Duty" by John McCain. It can be found on page 6-7 of  the Springboard Unit #1. It is to the right under Class Handouts and Important Readings. Answer all of the questions on page 8.  You need not write the questions, only the answer.
3. Create one Right There; 1 Author and You; and 1 On My Own for the essay by John McCain.
