Study Questions for El Mangle 1. Mami and Dona Andrea, for different reasons, made fun of Esmeralda's fear of the bathroom. Why did they do that? 2. (p. 173 to 175) Summarize what happened and explain her response to this event. 2. After Esmeralda was molested by her principal, she described her pain in very vivid language. Find the section where she talked about this traumatic experience, and explain what kind of pain she was suffering. 3. After finishing the chapter, it is quite obvious that there are at least two reasons why Santiago named it "Casi Senorita" (Almost A Woman). Discuss what these reasons are.
