AP English Literature Periods 1 and 3 "Mirror"
On Friday, we read the poem "Mirror" by Sylvia Plath in class. Please answer the following questions. If you need a copy of the poem, I have hyperlinked it.
1. Who is the speaker? What kind of person is the speaker? Describe them with four adjectives.
2. Is there an identifiable audience for the speaker?
3. What is the occasion?
4. What is purpose of the poem?
5. State the theme of the poem in one sentence (it can be a long sentence, but in one).
6. What kinds of imagery are used?
7. What is the tone of the poem and how is it acheived?
